We were also excited to have announced our new Senior Pastor and Associate Pastor appointments during services on Sunday, April 30. We are looking forward to their joining our ORUMC family in ministry in July. Here is information about them.

Our Senior Pastor will be Andy Lambert. Andy is currently an Associate Pastor at Mt. Tabor UMC, which is a large congregation in Winston-Salem, and has been there for the past 4 years. He is the lead preacher for their contemporary service and has had Senior Pastor experience during his career at a couple of different appointments in NC. He was also a "general evangelist" for the Western NC Conference for 12 years. In that role, he travelled extensively sharing his gift for preaching with various congregations and at special events. He wife, Renee, is a 2nd grade teacher. They have two grown daughters (Grace and Joy) and one grandson. Andy is extremely excited about the opportunity to serve ORUMC. He has a very genuine and passionate approach to ministry, a lot of energy, and has focused on “relational evangelism” and outreach within the communities he has served. Andy received his Masters from Duke Divinity School.

Our Associate Pastor will be Christi Taylor. Christi is coming to us from a senior pastor role at a church in Kingsport, TN, called Vermont United Methodist Church. She has had four senior pastor appointments in her career and considers pastoral care one of her primary callings and strengths. She will bring a broad experience and expertise to handle a variety of leadership needs in the church alongside Andy. Her husband, Sean, has recently taken a job with the Town of Summerfield. Christi grew up in Charlotte and has two young daughters (Emily and Lilly). Christi will bring loads of warmth, energy, and compassion to share with our congregation. Christi received her Masters from Duke Divinity School.
