Since 2003 we have collected produce and baked goods from Lowe's Foods at Oak Ridge and at the Cardinal.  This is food that is still good, but which would otherwise be thrown away.  The collection is many tons per year, and our pick-up days are Tuesday and Friday.  The food is used at Greensboro Urban Ministries for distribution in Emergency Assistance, and to other ministries.  The pick-up time is about 9:00 am, and teams of two volunteers are needed on an ongoing basis.
