The great news of God’s love is too good to keep to ourselves. At Oak Ridge United Methodist Church (ORUMC) we continually seek ways to reach into our community to meet those who would benefit from hearing the wonderful message of God’s gift of salvation for each of us.

Community Events

Outdoor concerts

Join us at selected times during the summer and fall to hear an outdoor concert of family friendly music featuring local and regional talent.

“TLC” Small Groups

Connect with a “tender loving care” small group. Small groups of 10-15 people meet regularly for Christian faith studies, prayer, fellowship, and service projects. These groups are about building relationships with God and with others and seek to include those that may not necessarily be members of ORUMC, but desire to connect with others on a higher level.

Homecoming

Each year in late summer/early fall, we hold our annual Homecoming where past members return to the campus to worship and share in some great food. For most of our members, this is an ideal time to reach out into our community and invite others to experience our church at its best.

Back to School Bash

For the past several years, we have held a special event for the youth as they return to school after the summer. Other youth programs from churches from all over the region participate in this evening of concerts, games, and pizza – all designed to keep our youth grounded in the faith as the new school year begins.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer approximately 500 children from the local community converge on the church campus for a week of activities, singing, crafts and inspirational messages. Our Vacation Bible School is open to all who wish to join in the fun and fellowship.

We also sponsor national, regional and local Christian talent events at our church or within the local community at various times throughout the year.

Crosswalk Contemporary Service

Our Crosswalk Service was developed to reach those in the community seeking a less formal atmosphere for worship. Join us at 9:45 on Sunday mornings for coffee and pastries. Then, sing along with the praise band and hear a captivating message that will get your week started off right.

The Refinery Worship Experience

Join young adults each Sunday at 11:00am for worship that includes multiple learning styles, open conversations, casual dress environment, and acoustic music.  Topics of study are audio visually based and deal with circumstances and events that occur within the life stage of a young adult.  Child care is provided through the church nursery.

Sharing our personal stories

There is perhaps no more impactful message than the witness of someone whose life has been changed because of a personal interaction with Jesus Christ. On any given Sunday, one of our congregation members may share his or her personal testimony…prepare to be inspired!
